Program Overview
Achieve Works is Achieve Miami's career pathway for high school students who want a direct route into skilled work after graduation. It sits alongside Achieve Scholars under the Achieve Academy umbrella. Students follow a clear path through three sectors: Construction and Trades, Medical Technology and Nursing, and Technology.

This is a floating role. The Career Coach rotates between the 4 south cohort schools below on a set weekly schedule, delivering Achieve Works content at each site. Reliable transportation is required.

Role Overview
The Career Coach works directly with students across the south cohort cohort. This person floats between schools on a regular rotation, delivering Achieve Works curriculum and career readiness content and providing one-on-one mentorship and coaching. The Career Coach keeps delivery consistent from school to school so every student gets the same quality, and serves as a steady, trusted adult for students at each site.
Responsibilities
Rotating Delivery Across Schools
- Travel between the south cohort schools on a set weekly rotation to deliver Achieve Works content
- Keep content and delivery consistent from site to site so every student gets the same quality
- Plan your schedule and materials ahead so each site visit runs smoothly
- Build working relationships with staff at each school you cover
Curriculum and Content Delivery
- Deliver Achieve Works curriculum and career readiness content to students at each site
- Prepare and lead sessions on sector exploration, workplace skills, and career readiness
- Adapt content to fit student needs and keep sessions active and engaging
- Keep session materials organized and ready to travel
One-on-One Coaching and Mentorship
- Provide one-on-one career readiness support, including goal-setting, resumes, interview prep, and next steps
- Build trusting relationships with students and serve as a consistent mentor
- Help students explore sectors, choose a focus, and prepare for credentials and work
- Support students through internship applications, interviews, and placements
Student Support and Engagement
- Track student progress across sites and follow up with students who fall behind
- Encourage attendance and consistent participation
- Connect students to resources and flag support needs to the Lead Coordinator or Director
Data and Documentation
- Keep accurate records of attendance, participation, and student progress at every school
- Complete required paperwork on time
- Document student support needs and incidents through the proper channels
Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with the Lead Coordinator and the Director of Career Pathways
- Coordinate with school staff at each site on space, scheduling, and student access
- Attend team meetings, training, and planning sessions
- Communicate early and often about student needs and site concerns
- Represent Achieve Works positively to students, families, and school staff
- Seek and apply feedback to grow in the role and strengthen the program
Qualifications
Required
- Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation to travel between school sites
- MDCPS and DCF background clearance
- Background check required
- Experience working with high school students, ideally in teaching, mentoring, youth development, or career readiness
- Comfortable delivering content and leading groups of students
- Strong relationship-builder and communicator who shares updates early
- Organized, reliable, and able to follow through independently across multiple sites
- Commitment to Achieve Miami's mission and to the success of the program
Strongly Preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Experience with career, workforce, or CTE programs
- Familiarity with the construction, healthcare, or technology sectors
- Familiarity with the South Cohort Area schools
Time Commitment and Compensation
Pay Rate: $26 per hour
Weekly Hours: 10 hours per week
Term: School year, approximately 36 weeks
Schedule: Usually 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM on weekdays across a set school rotation, with occasional evening and weekend events. Schedule includes travel time between sites.

Hiring Manager
This role reports to Camilo Echeverri, Director of Career Pathways at Achieve Miami, with day-to-day support from the Achieve Works Lead Coordinator.
