Carolina Containers & Transport is a North Carolina-based company specializing in shipping container sales, rentals, transportation, and custom modifications. We are growing and are looking for a dependable Class A CDL Driver to join our operations team on a part-time basis.
This is a local, part-time driving position based out of our Raleigh location. You’ll make local deliveries and pickups throughout central North Carolina and return home at the end of each shift. The position is ideal for an experienced CDL driver looking for a flexible schedule while maintaining consistent local work.

What You’ll Do
- Deliver and retrieve shipping containers throughout the region.
- Operate Class A tiltbed equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load, unload, and position containers at customer locations.
- Secure loads using chains and other required load-securement methods.
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Maintain compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, coworkers, and customers.
- Assist with general yard and equipment operations when needed.
- Maintain a professional and customer-focused attitude while representing the company at customer sites.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL.
- Ability to operate manual transmission trucks; no automatic transmission restriction.
- Current DOT Medical Card.
- Acceptable driving record.
- Previous commercial driving experience.
- Confident backing trailers in a variety of locations.
- Ability to perform physical work outdoors in all seasons.
- Strong safety mindset and attention to detail.
- Dependable attendance and ability to communicate effectively with the team.
Preferred Experience
Experience with any of the following is a plus:
- Tiltbed trucks
- Roll-off trucks
- Flatbed hauling
- Equipment transport
- Construction site deliveries
- Shipping container transportation
Physical Requirements
This position involves climbing onto and around equipment, securing loads with chains, operating winches and hydraulic equipment, and working outdoors in changing weather conditions. Applicants should be comfortable performing physically active work throughout the day.
Pay: $27.00 - $35.00 per hour
