Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Helper for Granite Countertops to join our dynamic construction team. This entry-level role is perfect for individuals eager to gain hands-on experience in the construction and installation of high-quality granite countertops. As a Helper, you will support skilled tradespeople in various tasks, ensuring smooth project progression and maintaining a safe, efficient work environment. Duties
- Assist with the measurement, cutting, and fitting of granite countertops according to blueprint specifications and project plans
- Support team members in handling and installing building materials using hand tools and power tools
- Prepare work areas by cleaning, organizing tools, and setting up scaffolding or ladders safely
- Help with the use of construction equipment such as tape measures, levels, and other measuring devices to ensure precise dimensional measurements
- Follow safety protocols during all tasks, including proper ladder use and handling of heavy materials
- Support the team in interpreting technical drawings and construction plans to ensure accurate installation
- Assist with related tasks such as caulking, fixture installation, tile laying, and basic masonry work as needed
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and construction site safety procedures
- Ability to follow blueprints, technical drawings, and detailed instructions accurately
- Experience or familiarity with tile masonry, framing carpentry, or general construction is a plus
- Strong physical stamina to stand, lift heavy materials, and work at heights using ladders safely
- Excellent teamwork skills with a focus on customer service and communication
- Willingness to learn new skills related to construction management, estimating, inspection, and material installation
- Prior experience with plumbing or electrical work is advantageous but not required
