American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring TNCC, ACLS, PALS, and a minimum of 2 years of ER experience.

Emergency Department (ER) at a Level I Trauma Center, Stroke Center, Heart Center, and Pediatric Emergency Department
-
Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)

Patient ratios typically 1:5–6, with potential to reach 1:8 during high-volume periods and holidays

Weekend requirement: 3 weekends (Fri–Sun) per 4-week schedule, with scheduling ranging from 1 to all 3 days of the weekend

Floating to Pediatrics is possible

EMR: Epic (preferred; training provided during orientation)

No on-call responsibilities

Active MI RN license required (compact licenses not accepted; must be active by start date)

Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIH Stroke Scale — all certifications must be active by start date, no pending certs allowed

ENPC preferred

AHA-issued certifications preferred

Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required

Level I Trauma Center experience required

Epic EMR experience preferred

Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management required

2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

State Board of Nursing License Verification and NURSYS Verification required for consideration

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers

All RTO must be submitted at time of application; no additional RTO will be approved after submission, and no RTO is permitted in July

Maximum of 5 days RTO per assignment

Pre-start online modules are required and completed before the contract begins

Former core staff members must wait 12 months before returning and should be verified through HR prior to consideration
-
Continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation administration experience is preferred
-
Triage experience is preferred
