TRC is working alongside a nimble firm in the aerospace arena that is seeking a Sr Aerospace Engineer - Advanced Concepts to help a small team of engineers advance high-speed flight research through modeling and simulation. US Citizenship required.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and evaluate hypersonic aircraft, launch vehicles, and human/robotic spacecraft
- Perform mass modeling, vehicle sizing, and architecture studies
- Develop and optimize trajectories using 3-DOF analysis tools
- Support multidisciplinary analysis and design optimization efforts
- Collaborate with a small, fast-paced engineering team to advance concepts from early design through prototyping
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering
- 2+ years of relevant experience (internships and research included)
- Experience with hypersonic vehicles, launch systems, and/or spacecraft design and modeling
- Knowledge of multidisciplinary design optimization methods
- Experience with trajectory analysis tools, CFD software, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar simulation platforms
- U.S. citizenship required with eligibility to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of aerospace industry experience
- Experience with high-speed flight systems, launch vehicles, UAVs, missiles, or CubeSats
- Knowledge of Monte Carlo, uncertainty, or risk analysis
- Small business environment experience
