Duties
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional service to enhance their shopping experience
- Assist customers with product inquiries, offering recommendations and conducting product demos when appropriate
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently to process retail sales transactions accurately
- Handle cash register operations, including cash handling, cash drawer management, and balancing registers at shift end
- Upsell products by suggesting complementary items to maximize sales opportunities
- Stock shelves, organize displays, and ensure the store is clean, tidy, and well-merchandised to attract shoppers
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of store products, including alcohol varieties and related merchandise
- Provide friendly phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
- Conduct product demos to educate customers about new or featured items
- Assist with inventory management, including stock replenishment and stocktaking activities
Requirements
- Previous retail sales experience preferred, especially in liquor or specialty stores with supervising responsibilities a plus
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in bilingual settings if applicable
- Proficiency with POS systems and cash register operations; basic math skills for retail math calculations are essential
- Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising techniques, and alcohol regulations is advantageous
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor and positive attitude
- Ability to handle cash handling procedures accurately and responsibly
- Familiarity with upselling techniques to increase sales opportunities
- Strong phone etiquette for professional remote communication when needed
- Supervising experience is a plus for candidates interested in leadership roles within the store
