Histology Lab Assistant
Schedule: Part-Time (Estimated 30 hours/week)
Shift: 1:00 PM – 7:00 PM

This position is responsible for handling incoming/outgoing histology specimens to support the histotechnologists and pathologists in the laboratory.
This role reports to Histology Laboratory Manager.
Some of your responsibilities in this role
- Patient registration and data entry of patient demographics and test information into the surgical center and lab information systems, in an accurate and timely manner
- Effectively communicate with physicians and physician offices to resolve patient/specimen discrepancies.
- Preparing paperwork and packaging tissue slides and tissue samples to be sent for second opinion
- Prepare lab equipment for upcoming research experiments
- Report data and compile information
- Clean and maintain lab equipment
- Laboratory support duties as needed
What we are looking for in a candidate:
- Professional certifications relevant to laboratory work are considered an asset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer literacy
- Obtained a high school diploma or GED
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening as part of the hiring process
