JOB SUMMARY:
Dependent on the experience of the applicant, performs all tasks for the construction and maintenance of electrical distribution systems; and any other assigned work as required. All applicants, regardless of experience, will be expected to obtain Tech1 lineman skill level and knowledge.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Assists in erecting, removing and climbing poles, towers, steel and related structures. Assists in assembling, installing, removing and transferring such line hardware and electrical equipment as transformers, cross-arms, Insulators, lightning arrestor, guy cables, and related equipment. Trims and removes trees. Assists In installation and maintenance of underground residential distribution. Assists in loading, unloading and operating wire pulling equipment. Assists in repairing breakdowns. Assist in all other departments when necessary. Performs connects/disconnects for services, daily. Works on call after hours and performs service work.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Training and Experience:
- ·Graduation from an accredited high school or its equivalent (GED) or graduation from vocational school.
Special Necessary Requirements:
- Valid Kentucky driver's license.
- Active CDL License
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Familiarity with basic electricity.
- Working knowledge of safety procedures.
- Ability to work in inclement weather.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with employees, superiors and the public.
- OR Considerable knowledge of basic electricity.
- Ability to climb poles and work with electrical lines using proper safety and precautionary measures.
- Considerable knowledge of safety measures.
- Ability to work in inclement weather and perform heavy labor.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, superiors and the public.
- Ability to read blueprints and make simple drawings and stake lines.
Pay: From $22.09 per hour
