Required Competencies, Skills and Experience
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment, plastic injection molding required.
- Must have prior mold making experience.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Must have 5 to 10 years of supervisory and/or management experience.
- Must be able to read machine dial gauges, blueprints and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of parts.
- Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes to take appropriate action.
- Machining capability including, but not limited to lathe, CNC, EDM, drill press, griding, sawing, and polishing tight tolerance steel.
- Computer skills including ERP and MS Office proficiency.
Education and Job Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
- 2 or 4 year degree or Journeyman's certification.
- Successful completion of trade school and/or apprenticeship program.
- Available to training in new equipment and machinery as they are procured. Keeping education and background up to current industry standards through willingness to attend seminars, read periodicals and seek advanced education.
Work Environment and Physical Demand s
- Subject to intermittent and changing noise levels from operating machines.
- Physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts.
- Breathing fumes, dust and mist.
- Skin Exposure to oils and cutting fluid.
- Stand, walk, push, reach overhead and bend to the floor.
- Visual acuity, dexterity and accuracy as needed to operate testing equipment or gauges.
- Exert up to 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Exert 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently.
- Exert 20 to 100 pounds of force minimally.
- Frequent exposure to manufacturing plant floor requiring the use of personal protective equipment (e.g., ear plugs, safety glasses, etc.,) and following good manufacturing practices.
- Normal manufacturing and clean room environment.
