About This Role
The Teacher plays a pivotal role in creating a cohesive teaching team, guiding the curriculum, and overseeing the daily operational activities of the classroom. Effective Teachers grasp the intricacies of children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development, fostering a safe and stimulating environment where children are actively engaged and empowered to succeed. The Teacher must possess excellent communication skills to cater to the needs of children, effectively guide teacher assistants, and address parental concerns.
What You'll Do

Implement educational curriculum by creating engaging classroom activities grounded in developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.

Mentor the teaching team through positive modeling and coaching, promoting their success.

Design and lead age-appropriate activities that stimulate social, cognitive, and emotional growth in children.

Maintain open communication with parents through regular discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.

Ensure compliance with all center policies and state regulations.

Maintain a healthy classroom environment by adhering to hygiene, cleanliness, and safety standards.

Supervise teacher assistants and volunteers to ensure adherence to planned activities, hygiene, and safety standards.

Maintain accurate records, forms, and files in a timely manner.

Prioritize personal professional development to maintain continuous quality improvement.
Requirements

Experience in child care.

Completion of 45 DCF Training hours.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as basic computer skills.

Able to work at a high energy level and collaborate well with others (staff, children, and parents) to foster a team environment.

A deep understanding of child development principles.

Current certification in Infant/Child CPR and First Aid.

Must pass a full background check and health screening.

Able to perform tasks requiring frequent walking, use of hands and fingers, handling of objects, tools, or controls, talking to and hearing voices at various levels. May also require kneeling, bending, squatting, or crawling.

Superb leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
