Duties
- Assist with food preparation, cooking, and plating to ensure timely meal service
- Maintain high standards of food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness in all kitchen areas
- Support dietary department staff with meal assembly and portion control according to dietary guidelines
- Handle food handling tasks including washing, chopping, and organizing ingredients efficiently
- Serve meals to residents or patients with professionalism and a friendly attitude
- Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and dining areas to uphold sanitation standards
- Buss tables and assist with general kitchen cleaning tasks to ensure a hygienic environment
Experience
- Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with food production, food handling, and sanitation practices is highly valued
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively in a busy setting
- Experience in food service or dietary aide roles will be advantageous
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper kitchen sanitation procedures is beneficial
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining attention to detail
- Prior culinary experience or training related to meal preparation and serving is a plus
