Location: Primarily based in Waynesburg, travel to clinics when needed Reports To: Director of Nursing
Schedule: Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
Current ARRT certification in Radiography and Mammography
License to practice as a Radiologic Technologist
1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred
Special Skills, knowledge and abilities
Proficient in using a computer and using EHR Systems
Communication skills strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with patients and healthcare staff
Time management and adaptability skills is required
Ability to operate standard office equipment
ARRT certification in MRI (MR) and Mammography (M)
BLS Certification required
Ability to lift 50 lbs
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and assisting patients
Exposure to radiation ( with appropriate protective measures).
Required Travel between multiple clinic sites.
The Imaging Technician is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures including X-Rays, MRI scans, and Mammography in accordance with provider orders, regulatory standards, and Family Health Care Associates policies. This role ensures high-quality imaging, patient safety, and exceptional patient care across clinic locations. The Imaging Technician collaborates with providers and clinical staff to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
Perform screening and diagnostic imaging procedures including: Dexascan, Digital Radiography (X-Ray), Electrocardiogram, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Mammography, and ultrasound.
Follows all ACR and FDA guidelines.
Prepare patients for procedures, explain the process, and ensure comfort and safety to obtain high quality diagnostic images.
Monitor patients during procedures and respond appropriately to adverse reactions or emergencies.
Verify provider’s orders and ensure appropriate imaging protocols are followed.
Operate equipment and ensure proper image quality. Maintain imaging equipment, perform quality control checks, and report malfunctions promptly.
Ensure compliance with radiation safety standards and MRI safety protocols.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements.
Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and clinical staff to ensure efficient workflow and patient care.
Perform quality control checks on equipment and report any maintenance issues.
Comply with all safety and infection control procedures.
Work with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure imaging needs are met and provide any necessary follow-up imaging.
Participate in quality assurance initiatives and regulatory inspections.
Assist with scheduling imaging services and coordinating referrals when necessary.
Provide compassionate care, especially when working with vulnerable or anxious patients.
Travel between FHCA clinic locations as required.
Other roles/duties will be assigned as necessary to assist FHCA in the attainment of the goals set forth and the enhancement of a positive, respectful family practice for all patient and employees.
