K–2 Special Education Instructional Paraprofessional

The Winnebago County Special Education Cooperative (WCSEC) is seeking compassionate, dependable, and enthusiastic Instructional Paraprofessionals to join our K–2 special education team in Pecatonica, IL.
As an Instructional Paraprofessional, you'll play an important role in helping young students develop academically, socially, and emotionally. Working alongside a certified special education teacher, you'll provide individualized support that helps students build confidence, celebrate successes, and reach meaningful goals every day.

What You'll Do
- Support classroom instruction by working one-on-one and in small groups with students.
- Reinforce academic, communication, social, and behavioral skills introduced by the classroom teacher.
- Assist in creating a positive, structured, and engaging learning environment.
- Prepare instructional materials and help organize classroom activities.
- Support students throughout the school day, including classroom instruction, lunch, recess, and school-sponsored activities.
- Assist with implementing individualized educational and behavioral supports under the direction of the teacher.
- Help students with personal care needs, including dressing, toileting, feeding, and mobility, when required.
- Safely lift and transfer students as needed.
- Observe student progress and communicate important information to the classroom teacher.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold the highest professional and ethical standards.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and ongoing training opportunities.
Qualifications
- Illinois Educator License with Stipulations (Paraprofessional Endorsement) required.
- Completion of at least 30 semester hours from an accredited college or university preferred.
- Experience working with children is welcomed but not required.
- A positive attitude, patience, flexibility, and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including lifting and assisting students when necessary.
