What You'll Be Doing:
This is not a traditional pre-litigation case manager position. You will support two attorneys and work closely with an experienced paralegal on an active plaintiff personal injury litigation caseload.
Responsibilities include:
-
Support attorneys throughout the litigation lifecycle, from filing through trial.
-
Apply the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure to day-to-day case activity and calculate, calendar, and monitor statutory and court-ordered deadlines.
-
Draft, organize, review, and supplement written discovery, including interrogatories (ROGs), requests for admission (RFAs), requests for production (RFPs), and applicable TRCP 194 disclosures.
-
Assist with drafting, formatting, proofreading, and filing pleadings, motions, discovery, and other state and federal court documents.
-
Manage depositions on written questions (DWQs) and third-party records retrieval throughout the process.
-
Order, track, organize, and maintain medical, billing, insurance, and other evidentiary records.
-
Assist with expert witness coordination, expert materials, designations, deadlines, and related litigation requirements.
-
Prepare attorneys for depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials.
-
Assist with pretrial materials such as exhibit lists, jury charges, motions in limine, trial notebooks/binders, witness subpoenas, and supporting documentation.
-
Coordinate with clients, medical providers, experts, opposing counsel, court personnel, and other third parties.
-
Maintain organized electronic case files and ensure attorneys and senior paralegals have what they need as cases progress toward trial.
What We're Looking For:
-
3+ years of plaintiff personal injury litigation experience, ideally within Texas.
-
Hands-on experience working on cases after a lawsuit has been filed.
-
Working knowledge of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure and experience calculating and tracking litigation deadlines.
-
Hands-on discovery experience, including ROGs, RFAs, RFPs, and disclosures.
-
Experience with DWQs and third-party records retrieval.
-
Experience ordering and managing medical and billing records.
-
Experience supporting expert witnesses and expert designations.
-
Meaningful trial preparation experience. You should be able to explain exactly what you have personally handled when preparing a case for trial.
-
Federal court experience is a plus.
-
Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
-
Ability to manage changing priorities and deadlines in an active trial practice.
-
Stable employment history and an interest in building a long-term career with one firm.
The Right Fit:
The strongest candidate isn't someone whose personal injury experience has primarily consisted of managing clients through pre-litigation. We need someone who understands what happens after the lawsuit is filed.
You should be comfortable talking through discovery, TRCP deadlines, DWQs, expert designations, evidentiary records, and trial preparation because these will be part of your day-to-day work.
If you enjoy the litigation side of plaintiff personal injury, want substantially more trial exposure, and are looking for a firm where you can continue developing your career alongside accomplished trial attorneys, this could be an excellent next step.

A bit about us:
-
We are a highly respected Texas plaintiff litigation firm representing individuals in complex, high-stakes personal injury matters. We have built our reputation through exceptional advocacy, sophisticated litigation, and a willingness to take cases all the way through trial.
This is an important distinction from many plaintiff personal injury practices. While some firms are heavily focused on pre-litigation and settlement, our practice is overwhelmingly litigation and trial focused. Our legal team works on cases from filing through discovery, depositions, expert development, pretrial preparation, and ultimately trial.
We are looking for a Legal Assistant/Paralegal who already understands the mechanics of Texas plaintiff litigation and wants to continue developing their career alongside experienced trial attorneys.
Why join us?
-
-
Join one of the most respected plaintiff trial practices in the Houston market.
-
Gain meaningful exposure to cases that actually progress through litigation and trial.
-
Work directly with experienced attorneys and paralegals who are willing to teach and invest in your development.
-
Build sophisticated litigation experience that can significantly strengthen your long-term legal career.
-
Join a stable firm with the ability to be selective about the cases it takes.
-
No billable-hour requirement.
-
100% employer-paid medical insurance.
-
Work with attorneys who are pleasant, collaborative, and value strong support professionals.
