We are seeking an innovative and entrepreneurial Product Design Engineer to lead the design, development, and launch of a proprietary software platform built specifically for the real estate industry. This is not a traditional engineering role—we need someone who can take an internally developed concept and transform it into a polished, scalable, market-ready product.
The ideal candidate combines product strategy, UX/UI design, software architecture, and technical leadership to build a best-in-class solution. Experience in property management, real estate technology, PropTech, or SaaS is highly preferred.
This position will work directly with company leadership to understand business processes, identify opportunities for automation, and build software that can eventually be commercialized and sold to external customers.
Essential Responsibilities
- Lead the product design and development of a proprietary software platform from concept to launch.
- Translate business processes and operational workflows into intuitive software solutions.
- Design user-friendly interfaces with a focus on usability, efficiency, and customer experience.
- Develop product requirements, technical specifications, user stories, and product roadmaps.
- Collaborate with executives and stakeholders to prioritize features and enhancements.
- Oversee software architecture to ensure scalability, security, and long-term maintainability.
- Coordinate with internal and external software developers throughout the development lifecycle.
- Conduct user testing, gather feedback, and implement continuous product improvements.
- Develop and maintain product documentation, training materials, and implementation guides.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend enhancements that improve functionality and competitiveness.
- Help prepare the product for commercialization, including scalability, customer onboarding, and future integrations.
- Support quality assurance testing and product releases.
QualificationsRequired
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Product Design, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in Product Design, Product Management, Software Engineering, UX/UI Design, or a related discipline.
- Experience designing and launching SaaS or enterprise software products.
- Strong understanding of Agile software development methodologies.
- Experience creating wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and product specifications.
- Knowledge of cloud-based software architecture and modern web technologies.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into intuitive software solutions.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
- Experience in Property Management, Real Estate, Construction Technology, or PropTech.
- Experience with CRM, ERP, leasing, maintenance, accounting, or operations software.
- Familiarity with platforms such as AppFolio, Yardi, Buildium, Entrata, MRI, Asana, HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar systems.
- Experience bringing a software product from concept through commercialization.
- Knowledge of API integrations, automation tools, and AI-driven workflows.
