The EMR Firewatch Officer is responsible for monitoring fire and life-safety conditions across assigned facilities to help ensure a safe and secure environment. Key duties include responding to and coordinating incoming calls from security and fire monitoring companies, conducting continuous surveillance of CCTV systems for fire hazards and suspicious activity, and accurately documenting incidents, alarms, and other notable events in required logs and reports.
What You’ll Do:
- Monitor fire and life-safety conditions throughout EMR facilities.
- Monitor and operate the IRP/Shredder Fire Suppression System.
- Receive and respond to calls from fire alarm, monitoring, and security companies.
- Observe CCTV cameras for signs of fire hazards, unsafe conditions, and suspicious activity.
- Maintain accurate and detailed incident, alarm, and activity logs.
- Report fire safety concerns and assist with emergency response coordination.
- Ensure compliance with company fire prevention and safety procedures.
What You Bring:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of security, firefighting, fire prevention, emergency response, or related experience preferred.
- Valid Driver's License required.
- Strong understanding of fire protection systems, firefighting principles, and emergency response procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong observational, reporting, and documentation skills.
- Proficiency with CCTV monitoring systems and basic computer applications.
Special Requirements:
- Indoor control room + outdoor patrols in all weather (rain, heat, snow).
- PPE required. Light lifting may be needed.
- Flexible schedule – evenings, weekends, and rotating shifts.
