Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their learning journey
- Manage classroom behavior effectively, utilizing behavior management techniques when necessary
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student performance and development
- Collaborate with other educators to enhance the educational experience for all students
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with teaching best practices
- Support students with special needs by adapting lessons and providing individualized attention
Skills
- Strong classroom management skills to maintain an effective learning environment
- Experience working with children in various settings, including daycare, tutoring, or camp environments
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development theories
- Ability to implement first aid procedures when necessary
- Familiarity with special education practices and behavior management strategies
- Experience in sports coaching or theater can be beneficial for engaging students creatively
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, parents, and colleagues
- A background in Christian counseling is a plus for those interested in integrating values into teaching
