Job Overview
We are seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) who is passionate about veterinary medicine and enjoys working in a supportive, team-oriented environment. Excellent communication skills are also key for both client and team interactions.
Duties
The responsibilities of the RVT include, but are not limited to:
- Assist veterinarian with examinations, diagnostics and treatments including providing appropriate patient restraint, when needed
- Collect and process blood samples through in house lab machines
- Administer medications, anesthetics and vaccines as directed by the veterinarian
- Monitor anesthesia and assist with surgical and dental procedures, if needed
- Record patient histories and other relevant medical record keeping
- Educate clients on preventative care, treatment plans and medications
- Take and process radiographs
- Support daily clinic operations and maintain a clean, organized work environment
Qualifications
Current registration as a Veterinary Technician in the state of Iowa following graduation from an accredited Veterinary Technology program is required for employment. Prior experience in small animal practice and with Avimark is preferred, but not required. Special interest in dentistry and/or anesthesia is welcome.
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
