Flatbed Supervisor
East Trailers LLC | Randolph, Ohio
Build Something That Lasts — and Lead the Team That Builds It
East Trailers is looking for a Flatbed Supervisor to lead our flatbed fabrication team and keep production moving from spec sheet to finished trailer. If you know your way around a weld, you've led people on a shop floor before, and you take pride in work that's built right the first time, we want to talk to you.
This isn't a desk job. You'll be on the floor every day — reading prints, checking welds, solving problems in real time, and making sure your team has what they need to get the job done safely and on schedule.
What You'll Do
- Plan and assign daily work for a team of 20–30 flatbed builders, keeping production on schedule while keeping overtime in check
- Make sure every build is fabricated and welded to spec — MIG and TIG, every position, every time
- Inspect welds and fabrication work, catch issues early, and keep quality where it needs to be
- Coordinate with Materials to make sure parts and steel are staged and ready before builds start
- Enforce safety policies and keep the shop floor clean, organized, and running the right way
- Coach, train, and develop your team — and handle performance and discipline issues head-on when they come up
- Manage timekeeping, payroll audits, and day-to-day administrative work that keeps the department running smoothly
- Look for ways to make the process better — equipment, methods, workflow, all of it
What You Bring
- High school diploma, trade school diploma, or GED
- At least 2 years of experience in flatbed trailer fabrication, structural welding, or heavy manufacturing
- Previous supervisory or lead experience — you've led a team before and you're ready to do it again
- Hands-on MIG and/or TIG welding experience, with the ability to read engineering drawings and spec sheets
- OSHA certification a plus
- The kind of leadership that gets results without losing the respect of your team
What the Job Looks Like Day to Day
You'll be on your feet, on the floor, in a manufacturing environment with the noise, heat, and moving equipment that comes with it. You'll read blueprints, walk the line, climb and bend and reach as needed, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Some weeks mean longer hours — up to 60 — when production demands it. PPE is part of the job: welding hood or PAPR, gloves, steel-toe boots, safety glasses, and everything else that keeps you and your team safe.
Why East Trailers
We build trailers that go to work every day, and we need leaders who bring that same reliability to our shop floor. This is a role with real responsibility — your team, your schedule, your quality standards. If you're ready to step up and lead, we want to hear from you.
