Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and energetic Pre-K Teacher to join our team! You will be responsible for encouraging children’s intellectual, psychological, and physical growth. Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Plan and schedule age-appropriate curriculum involving various activities to stimulate children’s cognitive skills, abilities, and development.
- Design a daily and weekly schedule
- Ensures a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment for the children.
- Maintains the classroom in a clean, orderly, and safe fashion that is age-appropriate for the children.
- Monitors and records daily observations of children’s behavior and activities.
- Complete parent-teacher conferences to discuss children’s development and concerns.
- Provide basic care and caregiving activities
- Evaluate children to ensure they are reaching developmental milestones
Communicates with families daily and updates them on their children’s activities
- Maintains accurate attendance and enrollment records, and maintains appropriate confidential records.
- Acts as a lead worker and team player to the Teacher Assistants; trains and directs the work of all teachers in the classroom.
Lead Staff Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in Early Childhood/related field (Preferred)
- Required minimum of a CDA or 16 credits of college coursework in a field/related field.
- 1-year experience teaching preschool-age level.
- Strong understanding of child development
- Ability to relate joyfully and sensitively to children.
- Patient, kind, and nurturing
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
- Must be able to perform physical activities, such as but not limited to, lifting children, bending, standing, climbing, or walking.
- Must pass MICHIGAN CHILD CARE BACKGROUND CHECK.
- Must have current or be willing to complete training in CPR, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens, SIDS, and Safe Sleep.
