Job Summary
Bouyant-C is seeking a dependable, safety-focused CDL-A/B Driver / Construction Laborer to support telecommunications infrastructure projects throughout Yavapai County, Arizona. This role is responsible for safely operating CDL-class vehicles to transport equipment, materials, and crew members to and from active job sites, while also assisting with daily field labor tasks associated with microtrenching and underground telecommunications construction.
The ideal candidate will possess a valid CDL-A or CDL-B license, a strong work ethic, and the ability to perform physically demanding labor in an outdoor construction environment. This is a hands-on role requiring both driving and field support as part of an active microtrenching crew.
Key ResponsibilitiesDriving / Transportation Duties
- Safely operate CDL-A or CDL-B commercial vehicles to transport equipment, tools, materials, and crew members to and from project sites
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain accurate DOT logs as required
- Safely load, secure, transport, and unload construction equipment and materials
- Operate vehicles in compliance with all DOT, FMCSA, company, and site-specific safety requirements
- Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked vehicles and trailers
- Coordinate deliveries and transport logistics with field supervisors and project managers
- Assist with equipment mobilization and demobilization between job sites throughout Yavapai County
Field / Labor Duties
- Assist construction crews with microtrenching, conduit placement, fiber installation, backfill, restoration, and general site cleanup
- Perform hand digging, shovel work, potholing, and other manual excavation tasks as needed
- Support saw cutting and trench preparation operations
- Load and unload tools, equipment, and materials at active job sites
- Assist with traffic control setup, signage placement, and work zone safety
- Support utility locating, site preparation, and restoration tasks
- Maintain job site cleanliness, organization, and safe working conditions
- Follow direction from foremen and supervisors to support daily production goals
Qualifications
- Valid CDL-A or CDL-B Driver’s License (required)
- Clean driving record and ability to meet company driving standards
- Current DOT Medical Card (preferred or ability to obtain)
- Prior experience operating commercial vehicles in a construction environment
- Experience in underground utility, telecommunications, fiber optic, or civil construction preferred
- Ability to perform physically demanding labor in outdoor conditions
- Comfortable lifting 50+ lbs repeatedly throughout the day
- Ability to work around construction equipment, trenches, and active roadways
- Basic understanding of construction safety practices
- Ability to travel locally throughout Yavapai County for project work
- Reliable transportation to and from reporting locations
- Must be dependable, punctual, and safety-minded
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting microtrenching or underground telecom construction crews
- Familiarity with conduit installation, fiber placement, and restoration work
- Experience towing trailers and hauling construction equipment
- Traffic control / flagging experience
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- Equipment operation experience (skid steer, mini excavator, etc.) is a plus
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50+ lbs regularly
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and work on uneven terrain for extended periods
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to safely enter and exit trucks, trailers, and active construction zones multiple times daily
