At Coasters, we hold our bartenders to a higher standard than most restaurants might. We believe that that role of a bartender is something to be earned, especially in our establishments. Our bartenders are considered to be in positions of authority to be able to lead, mentor & guide our serving staff to help them to grow, learn, and maybe even become bartenders themselves one day. That said, we are specifically looking for bartenders who know how to humbly lead a team, who are passionate about encouraging their team and pouring into those around them. At Coasters, this is the standard, and a requirement - not a suggestion!
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages efficiently and accurately using Toast POS system
- Engage with guests in a friendly, energetic manner to enhance their experience while providing expert drink recommendations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, ensuring compliance with food safety and food handling standards at all times.
- Manage cash handling responsibilities including cashiering duties, processing payments, and balancing registers accurately.
- Restock bar supplies, garnishes, glassware, and other essentials to ensure smooth service throughout shifts.
- Monitor guest behavior to promote responsible serving practices in line with alcohol service regulations.
- Be a mentor to serving staff team members who may have aspirations to bartend eventually, and educate younger, more inexperienced servers on alcohol knowledge, standards, & ABC guidelines.
Skills
- Proven past bartending experience
- Proficiency with Toast POS is highly desirable.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple orders efficiently during busy hours.
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to create a welcoming, fun, & vibrant atmosphere for diverse guests.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, food handling procedures, and responsible alcohol service practices.
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for cash handling, retail math calculations, and order totals.
- Familiarity with the food industry’s best practices in hospitality, brewing techniques, and retail math concepts.
- Ability to teach, lead, educate & guide younger/more inexperienced team members.

Pay: $5.00 - $12.77 per hour
