We are seeking a skilled and versatile Head of Finance with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, along with at least 10+ years of professional experience.

What We Expect
This role is responsible for overseeing all financial activities of the Club, including accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, payroll, and internal controls. The Head of Finance & Accounting ensures accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial guidance to support both operational and long-term organizational goals. This position works closely with the General Manager, department heads, and the Board/Finance Committee.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Management & Reporting

Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow)

Ensure timely and accurate closing of financial records

Present financial reports and key performance metrics to leadership and/or the Board of Directors

Monitor cash flow and liquidity to maintain financial stability
2. Budgeting & Forecasting

Lead the annual budgeting process in coordination with department heads

Develop financial forecasts and perform variance analysis
-
Identify trends and recommend corrective actions
3. Accounting Operations
-
Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions
-
Maintain accounting procedures in accordance with GAAP (or applicable standards)

Ensure accurate recording of dues, membership fees, food & beverage revenue, lessons, and events
4. Internal Controls & Compliance
-
Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets
-
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including tax filings
-
Coordinate external audits and serve as liaison with auditors
-
Maintain and enforce financial policies and procedures
5. Payroll
-
Oversee payroll processing for all Club employees
6. Leadership & Collaboration

Supervise and develop accounting staff

Partner with department managers to provide financial insights and support decision-making

Work closely with the General Manager on strategic planning
7. Communication
-
Demonstrate strong communication and presentation skills

Build and maintain professional working relationships

Lead staff development and support SOP development and implementation

Ensure consistent enforcement of accounting and financial procedures
8. Club-Specific Responsibilities
-
Monitor member billing, collections, and delinquency reporting

Oversee point-of-sale (POS) systems related to clubhouse operations

Analyze profitability of golf, tennis, food & beverage, events, wellness, children’s activities, and other amenities

Support capital expenditure planning and reserve funding
9. Continuous Improvement
-
Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes
Additional Information
This is an onsite, salaried position with flexible working hours. We offer a competitive salary of $150,000–$170,000, commensurate with experience, along with an annual bonus opportunity of up to $5,000.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required, with 10+ years of professional experience

10+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience preferred

CPA or CMA designation preferred

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting

Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis

Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills
