Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Sign Maker/Installer to bring visual concepts to life through high-quality signage. This dynamic role combines creative design skills with precise installation expertise, ensuring that each sign not only captures the brand’s identity but also stands out with clarity and durability. As a key contributor, you will transform digital designs into physical signs, expertly install them on-site, and ensure they meet safety and quality standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from conceptualizing innovative signage to executing flawless installations that enhance our clients’ brand visibility.
Responsibilities
- Assist with day-to-day production tasks including cutting, assembling, cleaning, laminating, and preparing sign materials
- Follow layouts and work orders to apply vinyl or printed graphics to various substrates
- Help operate and maintain shop equipment such as printers, laminators, saws, and basic power tools
- Support installation projects as needed (on-site training provided)
- Perform quality checks before and after production to ensure accuracy and workmanship
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe production and storage area
- Assist team members as needed to keep projects moving on schedule
- Coordinate installation logistics and ensure signs meet safety standards and client specifications
- Maintain detailed records of projects from initial concept through production completion
Skills
- Strong proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects), CorelDRAW, Sketch, and Figma
- Knowledge of sign manufacturing techniques including layout design, typesetting, print advertising, and production design
- Comfortable using hand tools, saws, and light power equipment
- Mechanically inclined or enjoys working with tools and building things
- Ability to stand for long periods (4+ hours)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs or more
- Ability to perform physical, hands-on work (this is a labor-intensive role)
- Reliable, willing to learn, and able to work well as part of a team
- Ability to work under pressure while producing high-quality work
- Strong understanding of print processes including typesetting and layout design for physical signs
- Knowledge of sign manufacturing materials and safety standards for installation
