Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, dispensing, and inventory management in LTC and hospital settings.
- Prepare and deliver IV infusions with strict adherence to aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
- Support patient intake processes by verifying prescriptions, reviewing medical terminology, and ensuring accurate documentation.
- Provide excellent patient service by answering medication-related questions and coordinating medication administration schedules.
- Maintain precise records of medication dispensing, inventory levels, and patient interactions in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Apply critical care experience to support complex medication therapies for acute care patients.
- Follow all safety procedures related to aseptic technique and medication handling to prevent contamination or errors.
Experience
- Proven pharmacy technician experience, preferably within LTC pharmacy or hospital environments.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, and pharmacy operations.
- Experience with IV infusion preparation and aseptic technique is highly desirable.
- Background in critical care or acute care settings enhances your ability to support complex patient needs.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage intake processes efficiently.
