Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and motivated Shift Manager to lead daily operations in a fast-paced, quick service or casual dining restaurant environment. As a key leader on the floor, you will oversee food preparation, customer service, staff management, and ensure smooth shift transitions. Duties
- Supervise daily restaurant operations, including food preparation, cooking, and service delivery to ensure high-quality standards are met consistently
- Oversee POS systems for accurate order processing and cash handling
- Lead staff training and development initiatives to enhance team skills in food handling, customer service, and safety procedures
- Coordinate shift schedules, assign tasks, and monitor team performance to maintain efficiency and morale
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation standards across all kitchen and front-of-house areas
- Handle customer inquiries or complaints promptly to foster positive guest relationships and uphold brand reputation
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food industry management, including supervising teams in quick service or casual dining restaurants
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen management practices
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for transactions and reporting
- Demonstrated ability in inventory control, budgeting, and food cost management
- Excellent leadership skills with experience in staff training, interviewing, and development
- Background in hospitality management or restaurant management preferred; fine dining or banquet experience is a plus
- Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on creating welcoming environments for guests
- Ability to handle cash accurately and perform cash handling duties confidently
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Previous experience in shift management within the food service industry is highly desirable
