Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and other school facilities using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemical agents.
- Handle custodial supplies and cleaning chemicals safely, following all chemical handling safety procedures and safety protocol adherence.
- Operate vacuum cleaner and other cleaning equipment to maintain floors in excellent condition through floor care techniques.
- Conduct heavy lifting tasks such as moving furniture or equipment in accordance with safe lifting practices to support facilities maintenance needs.
- Maintain sanitation standards by regularly disinfecting high-touch surfaces and ensuring proper waste disposal throughout the school premises.
- Assist with minor maintenance tasks including residential painting touch-ups or industrial cleaning as needed to uphold facility standards.
- Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to staff or visitor requests for cleaning or maintenance assistance while maintaining a positive attitude.
Requirements
- Proven custodial experience or janitorial background with knowledge of commercial cleaning practices.
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, mops, and chemical agents used in sanitation procedures.
- Ability to handle chemical agents safely following chemical handling safety procedures and safety protocols.
- Physical capability for manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking during shifts.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
- Excellent communication skills combined with a customer service-oriented mindset.
- Prior experience in facilities maintenance or industrial cleaning is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
