Quality Technician II

Pay: $20 - $28 an hour (DOE)
Shift: Monday – Thursday (6:00AM – 4:00PM)
Position Overview:
We’re partnering with a leading manufacturer in Kalamazoo, MI to hire a Quality Technician II. In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring high-quality components used in the aerospace and defense industry meet strict standards and regulatory requirements.
This is a great opportunity for a detail-driven professional who enjoys solving problems, working independently, and contributing to continuous improvement in a precision manufacturing environment.
What You’ll Do:
· Perform in-process, final, and receiving inspections on CNC machined components
· Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements
· Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with AS9102 standards
· Use advanced inspection tools (micrometers, bore gauges, surface plate equipment, optical comparator, etc.)
· Investigate nonconforming material and support MRB and corrective action activities
· Assist with root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
· Review routers, work orders, and quality documentation for accuracy
· Verify certifications for special processes and outside vendors
· Support internal and customer audits as needed
· Maintain accurate records and update jobs in ERP systems
What We’re Looking For:
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
· Proven ability to read blueprints and apply GD&T in real-world inspections
· 3–5 years of quality inspection experience in aerospace or precision machining
· Experience supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions
· Proficiency with standard inspection equipment and tools
· Comfortable using ERP systems and maintaining digital quality records
· Working knowledge of AS9100 / AS9102 standards
· Self-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset
