Thermo Fisher is seeking a highly motivated and talented researcher with a proven track record of laboratory achievements to join our Department of Synthetic Molecule Process Chemistry.
Responsibilities of the position include:
- Discover and develop process chemistry by conducting experiments to scout synthetic routes and to optimize reactions for yield, selectivity, and product purity. Open to leveraging state-of-the-art automation technologies with a willingness to learn and develop expertise to drive innovation and accelerate advancements in process research and development.
- Demonstrate synthetic processes at the laboratory and kilogram scale for timely delivery of early- and mid-phase synthetic molecule development candidates in accordance with cGMP, ICH and FDA/EMA regulations.
- Develop crystallization processes to isolate synthetic intermediates and to control the bulk quality attributes of the API conducive to successful development and formulation requirements.
- Make detail-oriented observations; interpret and document results via electronic laboratory notebook, batch records, and milestone development reports.
- Interact with cross functional team members and contract manufacturing partners.
- Keep current with developments in the field through peer-reviewed journals and other media, and maintain a scientific profile both internally and externally.
Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification

Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 0-2 years).

In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Compensation and Benefits
The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $30.00–$34.00.
