Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Drywall Hanger and Finisher to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, finishing, and repairing drywall to create smooth, durable surfaces that meet high standards of quality and craftsmanship. Your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of residential, commercial, and restoration projects. Duties
- Measure, cut, hang, and secure drywall panels according to project specifications and blueprints
- Finish drywall seams using taping, mudding, sanding, and texturing techniques to achieve a seamless surface
- Install trim carpentry elements such as corner beads, moldings, and other finishing details
- Apply plastering and stucco finishes where required for aesthetic or structural purposes
- Read schematics and blueprints accurately to determine installation requirements and specifications
- Perform repairs on water damage or mold remediation projects by replacing damaged drywall or applying appropriate treatments
- Collaborate with carpenters, plumbers, electricians, and other trades to ensure proper installation of fixtures and systems
- Utilize hand tools and power tools efficiently for framing, metal stud framing, door hanging, and fixture installation
- Assist with remodeling projects by installing flooring, tiles, or painting surfaces as needed
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and materials while adhering to safety protocols
Qualifications
- Proven experience in drywall hanging and finishing on construction sites with a strong understanding of construction estimating processes
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings related to drywall installation and finishing
- Skills in plastering, caulking, trim carpentry, masonry, tile laying, and flooring installation preferred
- Hands-on experience with water damage restoration, mold remediation, or renovation industry practices is a plus
- Familiarity with construction plumbing systems and fixture installation enhances versatility in project tasks
- Ability to interpret technical instructions such as schematics or construction drawings accurately
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt quickly on diverse projects
- Excellent teamwork skills combined with handyperson experience for multitasking across various trades
