The Deputy State Highway Engineer/Manager – Environmental Compliance provides a safe, efficient, and reliable transportation system that supports economic opportunity and quality of life and ensures compliance with applicable environmental regulations across all aspects of the West Virginia Division of Highways. Fulfills the role of Environmental Monitor as outlined in the 1996 FEIS Mitigation Document. Manages, directs, and oversees the professional work of the Environmental Compliance Division. Directs and oversees the environmental compliance field staff in the execution of duties as necessary. Provides research, analysis, planning, and management activities for the Division of Highways in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws regarding environmental regulation. Performs other related duties as required.
