Job Summary
Starter Bakery is looking for a friendly, dynamic, and reliable full-time or part-time FOH Team Member / Cashier. The ideal candidate is dedicated to genuine customer service, passionate about great food, and committed to upholding the quality and reputation of Starter Bakery. FOH Team Members are the face of Starter Bakery—ensuring every guest feels welcome and receives an exceptional experience
Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service and create a warm, welcoming atmosphere for every guest.
- Operate the Toast POS system efficiently and accurately process transactions.
- Ensure all bakery and café items are beautifully displayed, packaged, and labeled.
- Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of all Starter Bakery products, including ingredients, allergens, and production methods.
- Engage with guests by asking questions, providing recommendations, and sharing product knowledge.
- Prepare specialty coffees and beverages following Starter Bakery recipes and standards.
- Monitor drip coffee, ensuring freshness and timely brewing according to the café schedule.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked coffee station with all supplies rotated according to FIFO (First In, First Out).
- Restock shelves and displays to ensure abundant inventory levels that meet Starter Bakery’s visual standards.
- Support café cleanliness and organization, including regular cleaning duties, trash removal, and sanitation tasks.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and management, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork.
- Uphold Starter Bakery’s brand standards, ensuring every product and interaction reflects our values of quality, care, and hospitality.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Café Manager or company leadership.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management.
- Positive, flexible attitude with a genuine desire to learn and grow.
- Understanding of quality product standards, presentation, and efficiency.
- Commitment to workplace safety, cleanliness, and sanitation.
- California Food Handler’s Card required.
- Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification preferred (if serving alcohol).
Shift Hours: Wednesday - Sunday , 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM
