Wastewater Operator Trainee
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include operating / maintaining two wastewater treatment plants, collection system, and nine satellite pump stations.
The individual will cross trained to perform a variety of tasks to ensure proper operation and maintenance of the treatment plant, pump stations and collection system which include:
· Monitoring critical equipment and performing preventative maintenance on equipment as directed by Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), O &M manuals and instructions from the Superintendent.
· Collecting samples and performing laboratory analyses following SOP’s as required by the NPDES permit discharge limitations and other needed process control samples.
· Performing process control adjustments as directed by SOP’s and/or instructions from the Superintendent.
· Operating the belt filter press and make adjustments following SOP’s.
· Operating sewer jetting equipment to clean lines and televise lines.
· Performing wet weather studies and lateral repair inspections.
The individual must possess excellent organizational, communicative as well as multi-tasking skills, be safety oriented, mechanically inclined, self-motivated, able to troubleshoot problems and display a positive attitude. The success candidate will work in a team environment as well as work independently. This position will require rotating weekend, holiday and on-call duties.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
Possess a valid driver's licenses.
Ability to obtain a “Class B-Subclass 1, 2 & 4” Operator Certification within 2 years of employment.

Pay: $20.00 - $24.50 per hour
