What Makes This Position Different?
This is not traditional outpatient or home health therapy.
Our Speech-Language Pathologists provide services where life happens—in clients' homes and throughout the community. Treatment occurs in real-world environments that challenge communication, cognition, and functional independence in meaningful ways.
You may find yourself helping a client:
- Return to work or college
- Navigate conversations in restaurants or community settings
- Manage executive functioning during shopping or appointments
- Improve communication with family and caregivers
- Develop strategies for memory, attention, and organization in daily life
- Safely resume hobbies, travel, volunteer activities, or social participation
Every treatment session is individualized and functional.
Primary Patient Population
KFR Team specializes in the treatment of individuals with complex rehabilitation needs, including:
- Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
- Spinal Cord Injury (SCI)
- Polytrauma
- Stroke and other neurological disorders
- Complex orthopedic injuries
- Catastrophic injuries resulting from motor vehicle and work-related accidents
Both acute and chronic cases are served.

Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive speech-language evaluations
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care
- Provide evidence-based speech-language pathology services in home and community settings
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and referral sources
- Educate clients, caregivers, and families
- Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation
- Participate in regular team communication regarding client progress

Qualifications
- Master's or Doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current Michigan SLP license (or eligibility)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently in home and community settings
- Interest in neurological rehabilitation, traumatic brain injury, cognitive rehabilitation, and community reintegration
- Experience with TBI, SCI, cognitive-communication disorders, or dysphagia is preferred but not required
