Duties
- Prepare, cook, and plate a variety of menu items efficiently while maintaining consistency and quality.
- Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Assist with menu planning by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation techniques.
- Handle food safely by adhering to sanitation standards, proper food handling procedures, and safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, equipment, and utensils throughout shifts to ensure a safe kitchen environment.
- Support kitchen team members during busy periods by collaborating seamlessly on meal preparation and service.
- Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and communicating needs for restocking ingredients.
Experience
- Previous experience in a food service or restaurant setting is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated culinary experience with proficiency in food preparation, cooking techniques, and knife skills.
- Familiarity with dietary department practices or dietary aide experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures is essential.
- Experience in catering or large-scale meal preparation can be advantageous.
- Strong understanding of menu planning, food industry trends, and customer service principles.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail.
