Position Summary: Roles and responsibilities include creating detail electrical substation designs for 34.5-500Kv substations, that meet industry standards. Developing physical layouts of high voltage substation equipment and protective systems, electrical plans and elevations, grounding plans, perform ground grid studies, equipment sizing and selection, bus calculations and stations service design. Ensuring compliance with electrical codes and standards per NESC
Key Responsibilities:
· Coordinating with project teams for seamless implementation, optimizing substation design to support BESS and Solar projects up to the Point of Interconnect (POI).
· High voltage equipment knowledge, breakers, transformers, capacitors, bus configuration, and structure configuration, perform power system studies and review system studies, AC and DC auxiliary system design.
· Generate equipment specifications, provide cost estimating input, evaluate contractor bids.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
· Experience: 5+ years in substation design
· Licenses: BESS, PE
· Well versed in IEEE, NEMA, NESC Standard
· Proficient in WORD, EXCEL, PROJECT and ACROBAT
Physical Requirements:
- Work Environment: This job primarily operates in a professional office setting but must be able to traverse construction sites as required.
- Physical Demands: This role requires the ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer. Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
