The Program Manager is responsible for leading the end-to-end execution of consumer product programs from concept through delivery. This role ensures products are developed and delivered on time, within cost targets, and in full compliance with retailer requirements, vendor guides, and regulatory standards.
A critical focus of this role is driving supplier execution discipline and compliance, ensuring all products and documentation meet the standards required by major retailers and governing bodies.
1. End-to-End Program Management
- Own full lifecycle execution across multiple product programs (concept development production delivery)
- Develop and maintain detailed timelines, milestones, and deliverables
- Ensure on-time product launches aligned with customer and seasonal deadlines
- Track program performance against cost, schedule, and quality objectives
2. Retailer Compliance & Vendor Guide Enforcement (Core Focus)
- Ensure all products meet retailer-specific compliance requirements (e.g., packaging, labeling, testing, documentation)
- Interpret and operationalize retailer vendor manuals (e.g., Walmart, Target, Amazon)
- Coordinate compliance across packaging, labeling, routing guides, and documentation
- Validate certifications, test reports, and compliance documentation prior to shipment
- Proactively identify and mitigate compliance risks
- Serve as escalation point for compliance-related issues
3. Supplier & Factory Execution Management
- Drive supplier accountability for timelines, quality, and compliance
- Monitor factory progress across development and production phases
- Ensure supplier alignment with product specs and retailer requirements
4. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Lead coordination across design, sourcing, QA, logistics, and sales teams
- Facilitate communication between internal and external stakeholders
- Run recurring status meetings and ensure accountability
5. Cost & Margin Oversight
- Track BOM, tooling, freight, and duties
- Identify cost risks and support margin targets
- Monitor tariff and logistics cost impacts
6. Production Planning & Execution
- Oversee sampling, approvals, and production readiness
- Monitor production progress and shipment timelines
- Align production with customer delivery requirements
7. Risk Management & Issue Resolution
- Identify risks early and develop mitigation plans
- Resolve cross-functional issues and escalate when needed
9. Reporting & Visibility
- Maintain program dashboards and trackers
- Provide updates on status, compliance, supplier performance, and risks
Required:
- 2+ years experience in program management or product development
- Strong knowledge of retailer vendor guides and compliance requirements
- Experience with international suppliers (Asia preferred)
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
Preferred:
- Experience with major retailers (Walmart, Target, Amazon, Costco)
- Familiarity with tariffs and import processes
- Background in quality or regulatory compliance
- Experience in high-SKU environments
