Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes, menus, and dietary guidelines with precision and care
- Assist in menu planning to ensure variety, nutritional value, and presentation quality
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures and maintaining cleanliness standards in the kitchen
- Support meal preparation for various dietary needs, including special diets and catering events
- Maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas in a clean, organized, and sanitary condition
- Collaborate with dietary aides and other team members to ensure timely meal service
- Follow all food safety regulations and document compliance during food handling and preparation processes
Experience
- Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
- Proven background in food preparation, cooking, and food service within restaurant or hospitality settings
- Familiarity with menu planning, meal preparation, and catering operations
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Experience working in fine dining environments or the food industry is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards
