Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Dog Trainer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dog training and animal care, with the ability to work effectively with various breeds and temperaments. Experience is not required. This role involves training dogs in obedience, behavior modification, and specialized skills while ensuring a positive experience for both the dogs and their owners.
Duties
- Develop and implement training programs tailored to individual dogs’ needs.
- Conduct training sessions in various settings, including one-on-one sessions.
- Utilize balanced training techniques to encourage desired behaviors.
- Assess dogs' behavior and progress, providing feedback to owners on training techniques.
- Maintain a safe and clean training environment for both dogs and handlers.
- Engage with clients to teach them how to maintain the training to build strong relationships and ensure customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in dog handling and animal care, including knowledge of animal restraint techniques.
- Familiarity with various dog breeds and their specific needs is preferred.
- Experience in customer service to effectively communicate with pet owners.
- Background in kennel or daycare operations is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during training sessions or while handling animals.
- Certification from a recognized dog training program is advantageous but not mandatory.
