Journeyman Electrician
Journeyman License Required | Full-Time | Commercial/Service Division
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and dependable Journeyman Electrician to join our commercial/service team. In this role, you will lead day-to-day electrical work on a variety of commercial projects — from ground-up builds to tenant improvements and system upgrades. You will also play a key role in mentoring apprentices, upholding safety standards, and delivering quality work that keeps our projects on time and on budget.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair commercial electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage
- Read, interpret, and work from blueprints, schematics, and project specifications
- Rough-in and finish commercial spaces: conduit runs, panel terminations, device installation, and final connections
- Ensure all work meets NEC code requirements, local ordinances, and company quality standards
- Coordinate with foremen, project managers, and other trades to meet project milestones
- Mentor and guide apprentices on proper techniques, safety practices, and code compliance
- Identify and troubleshoot electrical faults efficiently to minimize downtime
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site at all times

Requirements
- Valid Journeyman Electrician license in the state of [State]
- Minimum 4 years of electrical experience with at least 2 years in commercial work
- Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Proficiency with commercial conduit systems (EMT, rigid, PVC) and wire pulling techniques
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and electrical specifications
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks including climbing, kneeling, and working at heights
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a crew
Nice to Have
- Experience with fire alarm, data/low-voltage, or EV charging infrastructure
- OSHA 30 certification
- Prior experience leading or mentoring apprentices
- Familiarity with building automation or energy management systems
