Description:
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our Ambulatory Surgery Center on a contingent/as-needed basis.
This position is ideal for a CRNA who is comfortable working in an efficient, case-driven outpatient environment and is interested in picking up scheduled procedure days with advance notice.
The CRNA will provide anesthesia care for patients undergoing outpatient surgical and endoscopic procedures, including pre-anesthesia assessment, development and implementation of the anesthesia plan, intraoperative anesthesia management, airway management, and immediate post-anesthesia evaluation.

Perform pre-anesthesia patient assessments and evaluate readiness for anesthesia

Review medical history, medications, laboratory results, and relevant diagnostic information

Develop and implement appropriate anesthesia plans based on the patient and procedure

Administer general anesthesia, monitored anesthesia care (MAC), and other appropriate anesthetic techniques

Independently manage patient airways, including mask ventilation and endotracheal intubation when indicated

Continuously monitor and manage patients throughout anesthesia

Recognize and appropriately respond to changes in patient condition and anesthesia-related emergencies

Provide appropriate emergence and transition of care to PACU staff

Complete accurate and timely anesthesia documentation

Participate in efficient room turnover and coordination with surgeons, nursing staff, and other members of the perioperative team

Adhere to ASC policies, infection-control standards, medication-safety requirements, and applicable anesthesia standards

This is a contingent/as-needed position based on surgical case volume

Typical shift: 6:00/7:00 AM – 3:00/4:00 PM, depending on case volume

Procedure days are generally scheduled at least 3–4 weeks in advance, with advance notice provided

Opportunity for more consistent part-time hours as additional procedure days are added

Active Michigan license/authorization required to practice as a CRNA

Current CRNA certification

Current BLS and ACLS certification

Ability to independently perform airway management and administer anesthesia appropriate for an ambulatory surgical setting

Strong clinical judgment and ability to recognize and manage anesthesia-related complications

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced outpatient environment

Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with surgeons, nursing staff, and other members of the perioperative team

Ambulatory surgery, operating room, and/or endoscopy anesthesia experience preferred
