Accountant (ERP & Reporting Specialist)
Position Summary
The Accountant manages day-to-day accounting operations, ensures GAAP compliance, and generates data-driven financial reports. This role includes the secondary responsibility of overseeing the internal administration of the company's ERP platform. Reporting directly to the President, this dual-discipline role is split 80% core accounting functions and 20% ERP systems maintenance. This is a full-time, 100% in-office position located in Long Beach, MS.
Compensation & Location
- Salary Range: $75,000 – $85,000 per year (depending on experience)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Accounting, Financial Operations & Reporting (Approx. 80%)
- General Ledger & Month-End: Record daily transactions, manage banking activity, and execute month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow analyses.
- Advanced Report Generation: Build and run custom financial, operational, and job-profitability reports using expert-level Microsoft Excel tools.
- Reconciliations: Reconcile general ledger accounts, company credit cards, and accounts payable/receivable aging schedules.
- Costing & Inventory: Account for parts, raw materials, and work-in-process (WIP) values while tracking fixed asset depreciation.
- Taxation & Audits: File monthly sales tax and quarterly use tax schedules, prepare annual 1099 summaries, and compile source documents for auditors.
ERP Systems Administration (Approx. 20%)
- System Integrity: Maintain real-time data accuracy between shop-floor modules and the general ledger within the ERP suite.
- User Support: Troubleshoot system data entry errors and act as the first point of contact for staff workflow obstacles.
- Workflow Optimization: Configure custom data fields, user dashboards, and approval pathways to enhance system utility.
- Software Support: Coordinate with external support vendors to plan and test application updates with zero shop downtime.
Qualifications & Technical Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, MIS, or a related field.
- Experience: 2–5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Excel Expertise: Expert-level Microsoft Excel skills (vlookups, index/match, pivot tables, power query, and advanced financial modeling).
- ERP Proficiency: 2+ years of experience working with industrial job-costing ERP systems.
- Core Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP, financial statements, and general ledger workflows.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work comfortably within an office room situated inside a larger industrial plant environment.
- Willingness to safely navigate the shop production floor occasionally to review material inventories, evaluate asset markings, or check physical job documentation.
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
