Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Expert Sawyer/Arborist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely felling trees, cutting logs/brush, and performing various chainsaw operator tasks. This role requires a strong understanding of tree species, cutting techniques, and safety protocols.
Safely fell trees using chainsaws
Assess tree conditions and determine best cutting techniques
Trim and cut logs to specified lengths
Maintain and operate chainsaws and other equipment
Follow safety guidelines and wear appropriate protective gear
Clear debris and ensure the work area is safe
Collaborate with team members to complete tasks efficiently
Perform routine maintenance on equipment
Adhere to environmental regulations and company policies
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 2+ years chainsaw experience
Ability to pass background check and pre-employment screening
Arborist or line clearance arborist certification
Experience with directional felling
Some background in forestry or right-of-way clearing
Technical roping and rigging
Proven experience as a chainsaw operator, preferably in logging or forestry operations
Valid CDL (no air brake endorsement) preferred
Certification in forestry or related field
First aid and CPR certification
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
Must be able to operate a chainsaw for extended periods of time
Ability to work in challenging environments, including steep terrain and adverse weather conditions
Ability to walk across various terrain in varying weather conditions
Ability to lift and carry heavy objects and perform physical activities as needed
Essential Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s License
Minimum 2+ years chainsaw experience
Ability to travel
Ability to pass background check and pre-employment screening
Preferred Qualifications
