Job Summary
We are a dynamic math and science tutoring company seeking a knowledgable and adaptable math tutor to support middle and high school students with coursework and state-assessment prep. Our team grew this summer and we are excited to expand further this school year. The ideal candidate sees the importance of identifying misconceptions, filling gaps, and building each student’s confidence. This role requires the ability to think on your feet and tailor instruction to meet each student’s unique needs.
We are looking for someone to join our team for the 2026/2027 school year. Specifically, a candidate who has availability in the afternoons or evenings at least 1-2 days a week (Tuesdays and Wednesdays are a plus).
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions either in-person or virtually
- Adapt teaching methods in real time to suit individual student learning styles
- Build rapport with students and maintain an uplifting learning environment
- Arrive on time and prepared for all sessions
- Complete brief notes at the end of each session
Required Qualifications
- State certification in Math (5th-9th or 6th-12th) OR Bachelor’s degree in a math-heavy field
- Strong understanding of core middle and high school math concepts
- Ability to work “off the cuff” and adjust instruction based on student needs
- Proficiency with learning technology tools and computer skills for virtual or hybrid instruction
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
