Overview
Join our close knit team as a Line Cook/Prep Cook and bring your passion for food to our team! In this energetic role, you will be part of our kitchen, preparing menu items for the day and cooking on the line. Open kitchen so professionalism and ability to communicate with the customer is extremely important. We’re looking for motivated, responsible individuals eager to grow their kitchen expertise in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Hours are mainly Monday - Friday 6am to 2pm with occasional Saturdays. We have two locations and handle daily food services for a client. Very rarely do we do any off-site catering. We run more like a fast service restaurant at one location and a buffet service at another location.
Duties
- Prepare ingredients through precise slicing, dicing, and portioning using proper knife skills and slicing techniques
- Follow standardized recipes accurately to ensure consistency and quality in every meal prepared
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, fryers, grills, and food processors
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment to uphold food safety standards and sanitation regulations
- Support the culinary team during meal preparation by assembling dishes according to specifications
- Adhere to food handling procedures and safety standards in production to prevent contamination or spoilage
- Collaborate with kitchen staff through clear communication to ensure smooth workflow during busy service hours
- Assist with catering preparation and special event setups as needed
Experience
- Previous experience in a food service environment such as restaurants, catering, or dietary departments is highly desirable
- Familiarity with food industry safety standards and food safety management practices
- Hands-on culinary experience including food preparation, cooking techniques, and operating commercial kitchen equipment
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques for various ingredients
- Effective communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to maintain cleanliness and safety standards in a fast-paced setting

Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
