Duties
- Greet patients warmly and handle all front desk responsibilities with professionalism and enthusiasm
- Schedule patient appointments efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare and Medicaid, ensuring accurate billing and collections
- Collect and review medical documentation, including CPT coding, ICD-9/10 codes, and care plans to support billing accuracy
- Manage medical records filing, documentation review, and maintain HIPAA compliance to protect patient privacy
- Utilize multi-line phone systems to answer inquiries promptly while demonstrating excellent phone etiquette
- Assist with medical billing processes, including collections related to outstanding balances and insurance claims
Experience
- Prior clinic or medical office experience with a strong understanding of medical terminology and coding (ICD-10, CPT)
- Proven experience in medical administrative support or healthcare front desk roles
- Familiarity with EMR systems.
- Knowledge of insurance verification procedures and Medicare/Medicaid billing processes
- Bilingual abilities to effectively serve diverse patient populations
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and health information management software
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and office management tasks
