Summary:
Aristo Behavioral Health is seeking an energetic, compassionate, and creative Recreation & Activities Coordinator to join our team. This position is responsible for developing engaging recreational, social, educational, and community-based activities that promote recovery, independence, and quality of life for adults receiving behavioral health services.
The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, thrives on building meaningful relationships, and believes recreation plays an important role in the recovery process.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate therapeutic and recreational activities for residents.
- Transport residents into the community for outings, appointments, volunteer opportunities, and recreational events.
- Coordinate a minimum of three community outings each week, with additional activities as appropriate.
- Develop monthly activity calendars that promote recovery, wellness, and social engagement.
- Lead resident meetings and encourage resident participation in programming.
- Assist with welcoming and orienting new residents to the program.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary treatment team to support resident goals.
- Maintain activity documentation and attendance records.
- Ensure activities are conducted safely while maintaining resident dignity and confidentiality.
- Build partnerships with community organizations and identify new recreational opportunities.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Health, Recreation Therapy, Human Services, Social Work, or a related field preferred.
- Experience working with adults experiencing mental health or behavioral health conditions preferred.
- Current Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor (AAC) registration.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification, or ability to obtain upon hire.
- Valid Washington State driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Creative, energetic, and self-motivated with a passion for improving the lives of others.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience facilitating therapeutic groups or recreational programming.
- Experience transporting clients in a professional setting.
- Knowledge of recovery-oriented and trauma-informed care principles.

Pay: $29.00 - $33.00 per hour
