Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Welder/Fabricator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling metal components with precision and adherence to safety standards. Responsibilities
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine fabrication requirements.
- Perform welding using various techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards.
- Measure and mark materials accurately using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure precise fabrication.
- Operate fabrication shop equipment such as press brake machines, plasma cutters, pipe threading tools, and sheet metal shears.
- Assemble metal components utilizing hand tools, power tools, rigging techniques, and fabrication methods for structural integrity.
- Conduct quality checks on finished products using schematics, measuring instruments, and visual inspections to verify compliance with specifications.
- Follow safety protocols rigorously while handling materials like sheet metal, ductwork, and various metal alloys; maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience working on construction sites or in manufacturing environments involving metal fabrication.
- Proficiency in welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding.
- Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and interpret mechanical blueprints accurately.
- Familiarity with measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math for precise fabrication tasks.
- Mechanical knowledge of tools like press brake machines, plasma cutters, pipe threading equipment, and power tools.
- Experience with rigging, pipe threading, ductwork fabrication, and sheet metal fabrication processes.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to welding operations and handling of heavy materials; adherence to OSHA standards preferred.
- Ability to operate forklifts or other material handling equipment is a plus.
