Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medication Aide to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for administering medications and providing essential care to patients in an assisted living setting. Your expertise will contribute significantly to the well-being of individuals with diverse needs, including those with disabilities and dementia.
Duties
- Administer prescribed medications to patients in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions and report any concerns to the supervising nurse or physician.
- Assist with catheter care and other personal hygiene tasks as needed.
- Measure and record vital signs, ensuring accurate documentation in patient records.
- Provide support to individuals with disabilities, promoting their independence and dignity.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals in a medical office or hospital setting to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance skills related to home community care.
Experience
- Previous experience in an assisted living setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Epic is a plus.
- Experience providing home care services or working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of catheter care practices and vital sign monitoring is beneficial.
