Duties
- Greet clients warmly at the front desk, answer questions, and schedule appointments with enthusiasm and professionalism
- Manage check-in and check-out procedures for pets, ensuring accurate records of pet care services
- Handle animal care duties including feeding, cleaning kennels, administering medications, and monitoring health status
- Assist with dog handling activities such as walking, socializing, and basic training to promote good behavior
- Support veterinary team members with tasks like animal restraint, grooming, and basic veterinary assistance when needed
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, grooming areas, and common spaces to ensure a hygienic environment
Requirements
- Prior experience in kennel work or animal handling is highly preferred
- Must be comfortable working with pets: dogs, cats, small furry animals, etc.
- Veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience is advantageous
- Strong knowledge of animal restraint techniques and pet care best practices
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary to move supplies or assist with animals safely
- Ability to work with chemicals
- Ability to work outdoors
- Basic understanding of veterinary procedures and pet health monitoring is desirable
- Must be reliable, energetic, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude
- Must be willing to work weekends
- Must be willing to work holidays (shortened hours)
